He and his daughter Mollie M. are living in the household of George T. and Mary Crain on the 1880 Hart County Census, they are listed as cousins. He is living in his son Emmitt's household on the 1930 Price, Hart County, Kentucky census.
A note about Henry from an e-mail I received from Iva Swinney Smith.
Henry played the fiddle and played for square dances. He traveled back and forth from Texas to Kentucky. He would come to my grandparents farm, and my grandmother would get mad because he would get my grandfather to "have a nip" in the barn. Henry married Louisa Jane Ray Bowling at Will and Cora's home in Alvarado. My Aunt and my mother remember going to the wedding. They said there was a piano in the corner of the room, they didn't know if they divorced or what - he went back to Kentucky. Aunt Jane Ray as they called her was also their Great Aunt.
[201] Hart County records has his birth as Henry Shelton born Jan. 26, 1855. LDS Microfilm #216826, for Hart Co. Births, Marriages and Death's. has his birth listed as Jan. 26, 1855, also. His headstone has a birth date of 2-22-1853.
