Excerpt from History of Patrick and Henry Counties Virginia, page 209
Edward's family consisted of fourteen children: Joseph was the eldest and he and his second wife moved to Kentucky. Later Edward and some of his younger sons and daughters went out there and stayed... Some of his descendants have his knife and whetstone that he used while in the Revolutionary War...
We have always been told that "Grandfather Ned" came here when about fourteen years of age (information secured in Washington). Several of his children married and remained in Patrick. Edward's some was Abel Pedigo; his brother, Elijah, with his wife and baby, were drowned in Smith's River. One daughter married a Cochran, one a Snead, and one a Clark.
