William and his family are living in his parent-in-laws, J.L and Vance? Chandler's household on the 1900 census.
He registered in the draft for WWI (what looks like) Sept. 12, 1918, he was 45. His nearest relative is listed as Rosa Pointer of 1224 Venable, Owensboro. He was listed as tall, stout and having D brown eyes and black hair. He was also listed as present occupation as fireman and the employer's name is (what looks like) Owensboro Ice Co.
He is listed as William T. Pointer on the 1910 Daviess Co. Ky. census. His in-laws are also listed in the household. Only their youngest son is listed in their household on the 1930 census, he was 13 years old.
[3488]
His death certificate reads the following: cause of death: Pulmonary Embolism following 2 weeks after amputation (something); contributory causes: Gangrene of leg due to arteric? (something) and diabetes; Name of operation: Amputation, date of Nov. 1st.

MORTUARY
William T. Poynter
William T. Poynter, 61 years old, died at the city hospital at noon Saturday. He is survived by his widow; four sons, John T., Phillip R., Charles L., and Norman Poynter; one daughter, Mrs. Ezra Williams, of Moselyville, and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning from the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. W.C. Porter, 1507 West Ninth street. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
[3489] He is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, section L, lot 20.
[3986]
William and Rose are listed on the 1900 Daviess Co. Ky. census as having been married for three years and as having had two children with two still living. They are listed as having been married for 13 years on the 1910 census. They are also listed as having had four children with two still living. There are four listed in the household perhaps it was meant that they had six with four still living? William who would have been almost 11 is not listed in the household.
This is not proven 100% by me but it's possible: On the Owensboro Area Obituary Index online there are two death listings that could be the two children who possibly died of William and Rose: William Earl who died Nov. 1902 (see note under William's name) and there is one for a Benjamin age 10 months old, who died of whooping cough on Feb. 13, 1905 and is buried in Elmwood Cem., parents listed as Mr. & Mrs. William Pointer.
