[1574]

There is a James M. Martin, 30 listed as Laborer on the 1860 Barren County Census in the household of a Peter M. Bots?, have been unable to find any other possible match in 1860 for James Mills Martin.

He is listed on the 1873-1875 Metcalfe Co. tax lists and the 1879 Hart County tax list. (There aren't any tax lists for Hart or Metcalfe Counties for 1876-1878, that I know of.)

James and George Ann moved from Metcalfe Co. to Hart Co. sometime after 1875 (tax list) and before May 1879. James Martin is listed on the May 1879 Hart County Tax list and according to Civil War pension documents they were living in Seymour, Hart Co. in Nov. 1879.

On the 1900 Hart Co. Census, there is a Rosa C. Martin age 19, born Sept. 1880, listed in his household as niece. His parents are listed as father born Va., mother born Ky. He is living in his son's (Virgil) household on the 1910 Barren County Census, listed as 79 and widowed. Both of his parents are listed as being born in Tennessee.
(I have a photo of his headstone)

[1582] (Military Pension records states Jan. 14, 1912.) He died at the home of his son, Virgil T. Martin.
