Daughtery
Rilla Alexander Daughtery, 86, of Lockhart, died Wednesday, May 4, 1988, in Gonzales Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital. She was born in Brady May 19, 1901, the daughter of Jessie Gilbert and Martha Adora Huff Mooring.
She was of the Baptist faith and active in the Tilmon Community Center, which was to honor her with a plaque for her great contributions to the organization May 20.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Noah Alexander and Rufus Daughtery, and a daughter, Maggie Lee Bailey.
Survivors include her son Raymond C. Botkin of Canyon Lake; daughter, Loney Swanson of Hoquaim, Wash.; step-son Boots Daughtery and daughter-in-law Bea of Lockhart, her most cherished and dearest friends; step-daughters, Ella Jones of LaGrange and Eula Voigt of Del Valle; step-son, Albert Bernard of Red Rock; grandchildren Aubrey E. Bailey, Patricia L. Lytle, Virgil A. Bailey, Raymond McWayne Botkin, Kelly D. Sharp, Kris D. Botkin, Emily Louise Jones, Walter T. Swanson, Joan Swanson Hickman, and Delores Swanson Townsend; 30 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at Lockhart city Cemetery on Sunday, May 8, with the Rev. Mack Blackwell officiating.

Rufus Nathaniel Daugherty
Rufus Nathaniel Daugherty, 89, died Feb. 20, 1983, in Cartwheel Lodge. He was born in DeWitt County, Texas on Dec. 10, 1893, the son of Henry Lee Daugherty and Rebecca Coleman.
He was a retired school custodian. Mr. Daughtery married Rilla Mooring in Lockhart on June 1, 1969.
Mr. Daughtery is survived by his wife Rilla Daughtery of Lockhart; four sons, Lee R. Daughtery of Austin, Arthur (Boots) Daugherty of Lockhart, Albert Benard of Red Rock, and Levi Benard of Austin; three daughters Ella V. Jones of Palacious, Eula Voight of Del Valle, and Loney Swanson of Haquiam, Wash.; two brothers, Vardiman Daughtery of Houston and Forest Daughtery of Elroy; two sisters, Ada Backus and Medina Awalt, both of Austin; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at McCurdy Chapel on Feb. 22, with Rev. Marc Munson officiating. Burial followed at Austin Memorial Park.
