He is listed as John G. Morin on the 1900 Mason County, Texas census. I believe he is the John G. Mooring listed in the 1930 Tarrant County, Texas Census, as a lodger in the household of Aubrey Cozby. He is listed as divorced, age 59 years old and had been married at the age of 28.
He is listed as James G. Mooring on his son Jessie's "delayed" birth certificate and as John G. Mooring on his death certificate.

MOORING, JESSE GILBERT
Jesse Gilbert Mooring, 77, died at his home 506 Rusk, at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at Connally's chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. V.A. Geeo officiating. Burial in Rosemound Cemetery.
Survivors: Two sons, J.D. Mooring of Waco, T.A. Mooring of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Rilla Alexander of Lockhart, Mrs. Lera Keith of Los Angeles, Calif.; fifteen grandchildren.
Mr. Mooring lived at Brady prior to moving to Waco three years ago.
Active pallbearers: Ralph Lundberg, J.W. Thompson, J.B. Thedford, Ben Crider, C.W. Belcher and J.H. Condra.
