Mrs. Bailey, whose given name was Beulah, had been a resident of Corpus Christi 15 years, moving here from Oklahoma.
She is survived by two sons, Mancel Bailey of Brady and Guy R. Bailey of Corpus Christi, three daughters, Mrs. Iva Vasquez of Dryden, Mrs. Audrey Jean Stuart of Corpus Christi and Mrs. Mollie Moins of St. Louis, Mo.; 18 grandchildren, and 45 great-grandchildren.
[546]
She moved to Corpus Christi to live with her daughter Audrey (Jean) Stuart after the death of VM.
[2261]
Tidbit from an e-mail received from Molly Bailey McDowell: Buelah was only 16 years old when she married. She and Virge ran away to get married. She (Buelah) said it was the only time she ever disobeyed her father. He had forbid her to marry, because she was only 16 and Virge was her first cousin. They where living in Kiowa County then. A photo taken of Mary (Mollie) Bailey Pitcox was taken that day and Stephen Henry Pitcox wasn't there because he had gone looking for her. (it is thought that Beulah and her parents were living in Kiowa Co., Ok. at the time)
