Mason County News
February, 1905
Mrs. Dee Coots, aged about 25 years, living near Katemcy, dropped dead Wednesday of last week shortly after noon. Her husband had gone to the field only a short time before; the lady having eaten a hearty dinner and apparently in good health. She played with her two little children, aged 2 and 3 years, and while playing with them dropped over dead, the children being unconscious of what had happened. Andrew Coots, father-in-law of the lady, who lived near, came to the house about that time and discovered the awful fact that she was dead, the little children still playing about her. The husband was hastily summoned, a physician was called and the neighbors came but life was extinct. The sad funeral was held the following day. The stricken relatives have the sympathy of many friends in their sorrow.
(Please note: The microfilm copy of the obituary that I have received is awful, however, the library that sent it to me provided a typed "translation")
