While searching for Aaron Proctor Crain in Missouri, I kept running across Joseph in the same counties. I finally became convinced that he had to be a brother or close relation. I then came across where he was buried and sent off for his death certificate. His death certificate states he was born in Hart Co. Kentucky and that his father was Geo. Crane.
He is listed under Joseph Underwood in the Census Index for 1860. He is living in his son Joseph Jr.'s household on 1910 census.
Other than marriage information, census information, Joseph Underwood's death certificate and an e-mailed look-up request regarding Virgil City Cemetery, information and documentation was provided by Joseph Underwood's great-great grandson Glen Fleener.
