There is a Temperance Coffee living in Esther Jane's household on the 1870 Rains County, Texas Census and a Temperance Coffee living in the household of Martha Dixon Tolbert/Talbot on the 1880 Rains Co. census, listed as grandmother. (both being the right age and having right birth place) It is assumed that this Temperance Coffee is Temperance Anderson Rogers.

The only marriage in Hempstead Co. Arkansas that has been found is for a Jesse Coffee and a Polly Rogers. Both of age on Dec. 10, 1854. It is unknown if Polly Rogers was Temperance Rogers. I have contacted a couple of Coffee researchers and they have a brick wall with this Polly Rogers.
