Ray Botkin
June 18, 1934 - Aug. 16, 1990
Ray Botkin, 56, Route 9, Box 258-G, Canyon Lake (Texas), died Aug. 16 at McKenna Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Botkin had lived in Comal County since 1983. He was retired from U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. He was affiliated with the Methodist Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge, OSO Naval Lodge 1282 in Corpus Christi, and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He was born June 18, 1934, in Pyote, the son of Wayne Leroy and Loney McCann Botkin.
He married Tommie Jeffers Nov. 4, 1958, in San Marcos. Mrs. Botkin survives at the home in Canyon Lake.
Mr. Botkin is also survived by his mother, Loney Swanson of Hoquiam, Wash.; two daughters, Kelly Sharp of Corpus Christi and Kris Chemello of Canyon Lake; a son Raymond McWayne Botkin of Chickawsa Ala.; three sisters, Emily Louise Jones, Joan Hickman and Delores Townsend; a brother Walter Swanson; and by four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Aug. 18, at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in Canyon Lake, the Rev. Don Somerville of Canyon Lake officiating. Burial was in Cranes Mill Cemetery.
The family suggest memorials may be made to any children's charity.
