After the death of his first wife he became known to drink, his four children were taken from him and they were all bonded out, America being only 2 at the time. There is a marriage record in Barren Co. where a Benjamin T. Dickinson was surety on a marriage for a Wm. P. Tanner and Zenith Bowles, Nov. 8, 1842, married Nov. 11, 1842.
There is a Temple Dickinson listed on the 1860 Barren Co. census age 76 born in Va. listed by himself. Sally Dickinson is listed in the household of her son, Wm. H., as age 65. Perhaps she was visiting Wm. when the census taker's came by?... They are only three households apart.
