"First Settlers of Red River County, Texas", Reports of the Clerk of the Board of Land Commissioners: page 18, #9, * Abner Hill, one league and one labor; Emigration: Feby. 15, 1836. * Appeared on the list approved by the Travelling Commissioners.
He was previously married, his "other" family is unknown to me but there are a lot of Hill's listed in 1850 Hopkins County, Texas Census. He is listed as 60 and born in Tenn., on the 1850 Hopkins County Census.

Page 18 (177) Bond for Land Abner Hill, Fulton Co., Illinois, binding self to Daniel McDonald, $1200, June 17, 1844. Conveys 400 acres between Harts Creek and Ripleys Creeks, part of 2129 acres surveyed for Hill as part of his Headright, out of which he has already sold 640 acres to John Binion, 400 acres sold being quarter section of land in McDonough Co., Illinois. Wit; James E. Matthews, Jas Rutherford.
